CD Smash.com
After one listen to Canada's Parlor Trixx's "Step Into My Parlor" I get the impression that somebody was listing and taking notes to Mom & Dad's April Wine Albums. This is a good CD, a fun "Get out the Booze and bring on the chicks" CD! Bands like Poison, Motley Crue & Warrant would be proud knowing they Influenced a new generation of toe tapping, leather wearing, big haired Rock N F****n N Roll. Where Is a Drum solo when you need one? I'm in the mood for a little "Over the Top RAWK"!!! Also, we need bands like Parlor Trixx darn it! If for nothing else than remind us that music can still be uplifting and carry a melody or two. I really feel sometimes that If I hear one more song about "How bad somebody Life Is" That I’ll kill myself! So "Step Into The Parlor" And ROCK ON!
Influence here are the above mentioned (Poison, Motley Crue, April Wine & Whitesnake)
Favorite sings are:” Second Chance (Too Late)", "Step Into My Parlor" and "Bitch"

Melodic Hardrock Today

From Regina, SK, Canada comes Parlor Trixx. The band was formed in 1999 by two members from the band
Railroad Steel, Kyle Bottcher vocals and bass player and guitarist Rick Knouse started the whole thing and
added Sean Hayward, drums and Matt Mann, lead guitar to the lineup. Parlor Trixx has the last years been
very active touring in Canada and a lot on some local clubs in their home area. They have opened shows for Honey-
moon Suite, Lee Aaron++. Last year they recorded their first album Step into My Parlor, with ten great hard rock
songs. Parlor Trixx is inspired of the 80`s metal, with bands like Ratt, Motley Crue, Quiet Riot and Poison. And
why this four-piece band isn’t more known out in the world is for me a big question and why hasn’t a big record
company noticed this great Canadian band yet? They have absolutely deserved a worldwide distribution of their
debut album Step Into My Parlor.

Since this CD arrived in my mailbox for not so long ago, it has been into my CD player a lot of times. It’s great party
music and after some beers together with this music your feet will not be easy to handle. It will remind you of the 80`s
and take you back to the time with long hair, tight jeans and all the stuff that the 80`s metal bands brought with them.
Parlor Trixx music reminded me especially about the two first albums from Ratt, Out Of The Cellar, 1984, and Invasion
Of your Privacy from 1985. Some of the songs are built up the same way and the guitar riffs also have elements of Ratt songs. But you also can draw parallels to other bands like Motley Crue and Britny Fox to mention some. Step Into My
Parlor is the opening number on the album, great guitar sound and huge vocals from Kyle Bottcher. The rhythm
section in the band also seems to be very tight and bringing us a tasty sound and many good hard rock pearls. Tell
The Truth is a bit slower than the first track, but it has a nice melody line and a great chorus. Canada seems to have
an infinite potential bringing us great bands, and I personally has listened much to bands like Honeymoon Suite, Triumph,
Harem Scarem and Lee Aaron. Parlor Trixx is a new highlight from Canada and with superb songs as Daily Driver
Manifest, the very fine ballad Second Chances and more great rock songs like Hidden Identity and This Is What
You Wanted. So if you out there haven’t discovered this band yet, you need to check them out they really kick ass
and rock like H.......!

STRUTTER'ZINE
Out of Canada comes PARLOR TRIXX, a great 80s inspired Party Melodic Hardrockband that sounds like an excellent mixture between SLAUGHTER, FIREHOUSE, RATT and WHITE LION. The band has a very good lead singer, Kyle Bottcher, who also plays guitar. 10 songs are included, and especially opener “Step into my parlor” is a very catchy tune, as this is great uptempo Melodic Hardrock with a very melodic sing-a-long chorus like STRYPER meets GREAT WHITE meets FIREHOUSE. This band is bringing back the late 80s LA Metal sound in it’s best shape, and besides that fun opening track, other highlights are “Queen city Saturday night” (fun uptempo Party Hardrock), “Second chances” (great typical strong late 80s Melodic Rockballad) and “Hidden identity” (catchy uptempo melodic hardrock). Great band this PARLOR TRIXX, recommended to fans of 80s LA Metal.
