News Feb. 15, 2006
All good things must come to an end. I hate clichés as much
as anyone, but when you're faced with such a confusing whirlwind
of emotions, sometimes clichés are the only thing you can
turn to. This is incredibly hard for me to say, but the Parlor Trixx
dream is over. Yep, you heard right. Last weekend at Buds in Saskatoon
was our final performance. After much discussion and heartache,
the plug has been pulled. After all, if one's heart is not into
the band anymore, it would be a disservice to all to keep on going.
Fortunately, we ended things on good terms and sat down with some
good friends and some beers after our last show in a kind of wacky
celebration, rather than a funeral.
Our final show was a memorable one, indeed. Saskatoon has always
been good to us, and our final show was no exception. It has always
been a thrill to perform on the Buds stage and feel so appreciated
by the crowd. Like nowhere else, the people who frequent Buds are
in tune with music and are there primarily for the music. But even
more importantly, the crowd at Buds has typically been our crowd--people
who planned on their calendars to come out and see us, well in advance.
Some even made long trips, paying for hotel rooms, meals, and gas,
just to see us. That is seriously humbling. Thank you to everyone
who was there this past weekend to share that special night with
us.
I have accomplished much in this band--more than I ever thought
I might. I was a small part of an album that sold out its only pressing.
We sold copies worldwide. Apparently, some people even actually
still stick "Step Into My Parlor" in their CD players
and play it! How cool is that? I never dreamed when I started writing
in the early Nineties that anyone would ever even care about my
tunes. In 2003 we became the top played and most requested on HardRockin80s.com,
ahead of bands like Rush, Def Leppard, LA Guns, Skid Row, and other
bands that we grew up listening to. We also charted in 2004 on radio306.com.
We appeared on television, radio, and had the opportunity to drink
Merlot with Terry Gilliam. We played at major outdoor festivals
like Rockin' the Fields of Minnedosa and Rockin' the Valley, finished
shows after April Wine and the Headpins, and opened shows for the
likes of Wide Mouth Mason, Bif Naked, and Honeymoon Suite. We've
put a lot of miles on the bus traveling to cities like Saskatoon
and Winnipeg, and towns like Assiniboia and Willow Bunch. When I
was a 13 year old kid with a hundred dollar guitar slung on my shoulder,
I never imagined I could have been a part of something this incredible.
Clearly, my life has been forever changed by the last four years
spent with PT.
All those successes, though, are nothing when placed beside the
people I've met and the friends I've made. My band mates went from
being the enemy to being some of the people about whom I care most
deeply. Some of my favorite times in this band were not the ones
spent on stage, but were on the road, hanging out with my pals.
Whether it was waterslide time trials in Winnipeg, sneaking in to
the spa in Moose Jaw, or pukefest in Minnedosa, we always found
something to do to ensure that the world was never boring. In addition
to the magical nights we shared onstage, I will truly miss the camaraderie
of being on the road with the boys.
But the most important thing in the whole PT experience has been
the fans. Not just any fans, really, but OUR fans. Our fans are
different. Our fans care not only on a musical level, but on a personal
level, and believe me--we care right back. I have met some amazing
people because of this band. Some are people that I only run into
on occasion and feel warmly toward. Others have become very close
friends. I shudder to think where my life would be right now if
it weren't for all the people around me, many of whom I met as a
direct result of my involvement with PT.
So not only do I thank Kyle, Sean, and Rick for four years of amazing
personal success and growth, but also everyone who has been there
to support us, whether it be through buying merchandise, coming
out to shows, talking up our CD, or just being there to give a gentle
nudge of encouragement when needed. I really have been blessed.
Thank you all!
Where to from here? I can't speak for the rest of the monkeys,
but personally, I am trying to look forward to new projects and
successes. I still have many stories to tell and many songs to sing.
When you'll see me next? Who knows? Perhaps my band mates will get
back on their feet before me. I hope they do, because they all have
serious talent. The world of music will benefit from the contributions
of Parlor Trixx long into the future, as each member makes his signature
known once more. While no one can be quite sure of what the future
holds, I can promise you for one last time that I will...

Another year has come and gone and so it's time for a reflection
on the year it was, right? Well, not in the World of Parlor Trixx!
I figured rather than boring you with a reflection of 2005, its
more productive to look ahead at the coming year, instead. If you
want to see what the year was like for us, check out the news archives.
If you wanna know what's coming up soon, then read on...
We've been hard at work writing and rehearsing tunes for our upcoming
album for the past five weeks or so, and we'll be heading into the
studio to start the work in earnest within the next few weeks. I
know we've been promising that this has been coming for a long time,
but there is finally some real progress to report. And, if the first
batch of songs we've got together are any indication, trust me:
it was well worth the wait! It's coming soon, and the world will
be taken by storm, to be sure.
Just to keep us from getting stir crazy, we've got a couple of
shows coming up early next month. First, it's off to the Royal Hotel
in Moose Jaw to rock the house for three wild and crazy nights.
I know it's been a while, and we'll be making it up to you all with
a seriously good show, of that much I am supremely confident. Then
the following weekend, we're off to Buds in Saskatoon. We've had
a ton of people in the Toontown area telling us we need to get up
there, and we can't put it off any longer. We can't wait to get
out and show everybody how hard we've been working lately and take
the next leap in fan support as we begin launching the new material.
If you live in the Moose Jaw or Saskatoon area, mark your calendar.
You are about to be rocked!
Keep watching for fan input sections regarding some important decisions
regarding our album, as we want the most important people--the fans--to
have some real input. Let's have some good, fun discussions and
work together on putting out the coolest release of 2006! Stay tuned,
more to come real soon!
In the meantime, until we meet again,
C-ya on the Road to Rock!

News June 2, 2005
No matter which way you look at it, May has been an exhausting,
yet rewarding month for Parlor Trixx. We've continued writing material
for our upcoming album, played some of our favorite venues, and
had some personal achievements along the way, too.
We started the month on a high note, playing our full acoustic
show at Bart's on Broad in Regina. Since we've been playing Bart's,
it's hard to think of any bad nights we've had. We've been well-received
by the audiences and treated like gold by the staff. And the acoustic
angle definitely gives this particular gig a certain uniqueness
in our minds to say the least. A big shout goes out to the staff
and patrons of Bart's for starting off our month right.
Later that same week, the PT bus headed over to Albert Street,
to Charlie's Pub in the Plains hotel for two nights of unrestrained
aggression. The Good Time Charlie's crowd was stoked to see a few
more aggressive tunes enter our repertoire and PT was more than
willing to provide them. Our May weekend at the Plains will be forever
imprinted in my memory as one of the best times by far that I've
ever had playing there, and believe me, there is some stiff competition
as I've been playing there for over a decade! It seems the Queen
City is finally catching the PT wave and we owe a debt of gratitude
to the people who have made us feel welcome in our home town at
long last. Thanx, Regina!
After a week without any live shows, we headed to El'Kuroki in
Kuroki, SK for the 6th annual "May Long Bash with Parlor Trixx".
I could never dream of being disappointed with a weekend in Kuroki.
Each year it is like a giant family reunion, where we become reunited
with people we haven't seen since last May long! Almost everyone
expected was in attendance, and of course many showed up who we
weren't expecting to see. The requisite late nights were combined
with copious amounts of alcohol and late nights to provide an unforgettable
weekend that is hard to remember! You folks truly are special. Thank
you!
So, if you've just finished a weekend of solid partying, how do
you attempt to top it? Why, by playing the Royal in Moose Jaw, of
course! When you have four stagettes in one night at the Royal,
you know you're in for a good time and this weekend did not disappoint.
The weekend was so filled with highs that the few lows, like the
lard brain who decided to jump on stage and pick a fight with the
band, are all but forgotten. Even that story had a great ending,
though. You should have seen the dude fly in the air when Kyle gave
him the boot off stage! We have come to love Moose Jaw over the
years and there's a good reason for that. It seems like Moose Javians
are never too tired to party, and I can attest to that personally!
May was indeed a crazy month for Parlor Trixx, but amid the craziness
was a certain solace. Through playing, partying, and hanging out,
I felt incredibly lucky to be playing with the group of guys that
I am. Not only do I enjoy working with them musically, but lately
I have been feeling a closeness to my band mates that hasn't been
felt in some time. Maybe it's the new album, maybe it's the steady
string of dates in the future, or maybe it's something else entirely.
I'm not sure why, but optimism abounds right now in the Parlor Trixx
camp and shows no signs of lessening.
June begins in the right way with a trip to Bud's in Saskatoon.
We can't say enough about how much we look forward to playing Saskatoon.
I have never seen a group of bar patrons that take music as seriously
as the folks at Bud's. Other notables coming up include the Rider
pre-game party and the Rockin' the Hills festival. No matter where
the wind takes us, there's always room for more on the PT express.
Tell your friends, tell your family, and, oh yeah, lock up your
daughters, too! This train is gonna be one wild ride! Watch this
space for information on our new album as well as new merchandise,
coming soon.
Until our paths cross next,
C-ya on the Road to Rock,

News March 22, 2005
It has been far too long since my last update and I feel an apology
is in order. My tardiness in writing this article is unintentional,
but unacceptable. I pray that the loyal order of Parlor Trixx fans
from around the world will forgive this indiscretion on my part
and accept my pledge that I will put forth more effort to keep the
news as current as possible at all times, because pt.com should
be your one and only stop for everything Parlor Trixx!
Now, with that formality out of the way, let's turn our discussion
to what's been going on in our world. So far this year, we've played
about a dozen shows in various locations. And then, just when we
think we're taking a break, things seem to get even more hectic!
So, although the details are more than just a little foggy, I will
do my best to summarize the past couple of months.
I can't imagine a more exciting way to begin the year than a visit
to Buds on Broadway in Saskatoon. It's always a non-stop party in
that room. I don't know how you folks do it! It's hard to believe
that it's been long enough that we're about to hit Saskatoon again.
Every time we're there, amazing memories are forged. We can't wait
to return.
January saw us playing in a new venue in Regina, Bart's on Broad.
It was certainly a change in pace for us, but we took the change
of scenery in stride and convinced the locals that we're okay. Bart's
is definitely not our "usual" type of venue, but I must
say that was one of the most fun times I've ever had in a bar on
a Sunday and Monday night. Our return engagement at Bart's featured
something completely new for us. For the first time ever, we did
an acoustic show from start to finish. It took some getting used
to, and we even had a couple of people tell us they preferred us
plugged in, but overall, our acoustic debut was a rousing success.
So much so, in fact, that we will likely end up doing every Bart's
show acoustically. The acoustic angle will ensure many great nights
to come at the Broad Street watering hole. Hats off to the management,
staff, and patrons at Bart's for making us feel welcome. We look
forward to many, many shows at Bart’s in the future.
We still haven't forgot about the original stomping ground, though.
The Plains still sees its fair share of Parlor Trixx, and we've
already played a jam, a benefit for Tsunami relief, and a weekend
at the smoke-free Plains this year. Other shows have already been
booked and, as always, at the Plains, it's gonna be loud!
Southy has quickly gained a reputation in our band us as the type
of town that is ready to party at the drop of a hat! This sleepy
town transforms by night into a tightly packed mass, teeming with
humanity and all the worldly pleasures that accompany it. Thanks
to Southy Bar and Grill for providing us with a packed house as
our soapbox to stand on and spread the good word of Rock and Roll!
And, of course, who could forget our disaster-laden trip to Yorkton
to play at the Agro-plex? If it weren’t for bus problems,
extremely cold weather, equipment breakdowns, missing persons, and
even a missing crowd, we would have thought this was just a normal
gig! I'm joking, of course. We truly enjoyed playing for those people
that did attend. It was a small but mighty group on a cold and blustery
night. Thanks to the Yorkton Kinsmen for inviting us out.
Of course, March hasn't really seen us do much of anything, as
far as live shows go. We haven't been sitting idle, though. Pre-production
has begun for our as yet untitled second album. Although this is
still the very early stages of recording, you can begin to get excited:
this really does move us much closer to an actual release date!
In the meantime, feel free to browse our forum, and have a look
at the merchandise available. Of course, we'll be heading back out
on the road again real soon and are looking forward to seeing all
of you again! When we meet up, we can share stories, laughter, and
if you're lucky, you just may get your hands on a brand-spanking-new
PT laminate! Until then, though, I'm off to continue writing. Stay
tuned for a big news update coming soon!

News 01/03/05
Since we brought in 2004 with a rocking night, it was only fitting
that we ended it off in the same fashion. The year 2004 was chock
full of Parlor Trixx goodness, including Some writing for the new
album, a couple of demo tunes, positive feedback from around the
globe, the birth of "The World Of Parlor Trixx", fantastic shows
across the province and into Manitoba, and too many stories that
can't be repeated!
Finishing the year in style, our last two shows were at two of
our favorite places to play. First off, we headed to the Royal in
Moose Jaw. Three nights filled with tunes, drinks, and partying
were all I could have asked for for Christmas. But then on top of
it, we had visitors from Regina, a couple of stagettes, and the
Will Ferrell Fan Club to make it that much better. Everyone in Moose
Jaw deserves a hand. We are never, ever disappointed when we leave
your town!
Our New Year's eve show in Preeceville was our only visit there
in 2004. Since it had been a while since we'd been there, the people
came out in droves, packing the GW to capacity. Aside from the PA
troubles we had at the beginning of the night, my broken guitar
at the end of the night, and the goofy hats we had to wear at midnight,
everything was perfect! I say that in jest, of course, because the
night really was awesome. It's been a long time since I played that
many encores and we met so many great people afterwards. We're always
treated first-class in Preeceville, and our most recent experience
does nothing to take away from that. A huge personal note of thanks
goes out to each and every person who chose to bring in the New
Year with us!
So, now we're on to 2005. The year brings with it a renewed sense
of hope and optimism. Fans are thinking that this will be the year
that our album is released, and I can confirm that this month we
will definitely be in the studio. We are currently considering some
new venues to play, and there will surely be new merchandise in
the upcoming year. As much as I can say that '04 was a good year,
I think this year has the potential to be an unbelievable one.
We hope you had a terrific holiday season and we wish everyone
a prosperous New Year. If you wish the same, feel free to drop a
note on our message board saying so! I'm gonna go head off and try
to repair some gear now.

News Nov, 11, 2004
We were recently introduced to the gem of the Prairies known as
Carlyle, SK. We did a private booking for a 40th birthday for Donna
and we couldn't believe it was her when we met her. She didn't look
a day over 39! All jokes aside, we're a little inexperienced on
the birthday party circuit and didn't know what to expect. Everybody
at The Office Bar was welcoming and accommodating. The staff was
awesome, and the place was completely raftered. We had an amazing
night as the good times (and drinks) were flowing non-stop. A big
thank-you to Brian for bringing us out and to all the people of
Carlyle for making us feel so welcome. We'd do another gig like
that in a heartbeat!
I've thrown a teaser into the last couple of articles about something
we couldn't announce. Since it's in the can now, I suppose we can
blab. Parlor Trixx was fortunate enough to take part in a scene
in the upcoming Terry Gilliam film, Tideland, starring Jeff Bridges.
Because there were several changes in the plans, we didn't want
to divulge any information until it was final. Sean ended up being
the drummer in Jeff Bridges' band and had a marvelous acting debut
while the rest of us filled in as the roadies for the band. Taking
part in Tideland was a unique experience for all of us and one that
was thoroughly enjoyable through and through. The cast and crew
were nothing but pure fun to work with and superb people all around.
Special thanks must be given to Trenna for her tireless work in
coordinating, and to Terry and Jeff for being so approachable and
personable. We can't wait for the wrap party. It's gonna be a ball!
Next weekend sees us heading to the Royal in Moose Jaw for the
last time in 2004. Moose Jaw weekends are always a little on the
crazy side, so if you want to experience the full Parlor Trixx effect,
get your butt out to the Royal. You won't be disappointed!
We still have a handful (literally) of copies of "Step Into
My Parlor" left. If you for some reason don't have yours yet,
you'd better get on it! We've also got some of our new merchandise
available at every show. Pick up some so you can make everyone you
know jealous of your threads!
And, finally, to everyone who has been posting on our forum lately,
thanks! Keep it up. After all, it's the varied discussion that takes
place that makes the forum such a fun place to be. And if you haven't
yet joined, what are you waiting for? Christmas? It's less than
a month away, so hurry or you'll miss the boat!
Until the next time,

News Nov. 3, 2004
Another weekend meant another new town
for us with a Halloween bash in Broadview Friday night. We were
anticipating some sort of excitement as soon as we backed the bus
up to the doors, but we had no idea what that excitement would entail.
What it turned out to be was a unique bar experience that will be
remembered for years to come. For anyone who has never been to the
Broad-View Hotel, it's a cozy place with a great atmosphere. But
what it's most famous for is the strippers that adorned the stage
when Saskatchewan's liquor laws were challenged some years back.
Judging by how rowdy the crowd was, you would have thought the glory
days of public nudity in drinking establishments had returned. (No
worries, we were all fully clothed!) Some hours, a lot of tunes,
and even more liquor later, we had made a ton of new friends and
fans. Teardown was delayed for an extended period while we signed
stuff and chatted with all the cool people of Broadview, and at
least a few from Regina, too! Thank you, Broadview, for your hospitality.
We shall return!
Tuesday night Kyle and I jammed out
a few acoustic numbers at the Plains. We always have a blast playing
stripped down versions of some of the tunes we usually do as well
as doing stuff we usually don't get to play. A small but noisy crowd
helped set the great mood for the evening. It's always nice to see
good friends come out along with honoured guests, some of whom we
haven't seen in some time. Props are due to Ryan for getting up
to jam.
Dude, your extensive repertoire is
always a hit on Tuesdays. There's also a rumour that some mohawk-wearing
guy jammed, but that is, at press time, still unconfirmed.
So that's what we've been up to. How
about you? Tell us about yourself on our message board, or leave
us a note in our guestbook. We always love to hear from fans, and
we especially love hearing from our enemies! Any news will be posted
here as soon as it happens. The World of Parlor Trixx is the place
to be when you need your Parlor Trixx Fixx...
Be sure to get your copy of "Step
Into My Parlor". They're going like hotcakes and there are
but a precious few left. There are currently no plans for a second
run, so when they're gone, they're gone. Speaking of gone, our merchandise
is also moving fast. Remember, our line of clothing is constantly
evolving, so if you see something you like, grab it. It won't be
around forever. Besides, any money we make on sales will be put
toward buying me a new car. Ummmm...sorry, I mean it will be put
toward our new album's production. Speaking of which, the album
is still progressing, slowly but surely. We're still working on
album titles, like "Appetite for MacDonald's", "Smell
the Love", "Ketchup", and "Yes, We Are That
Good". Any suggestions are welcome and are taken seriously
before we laugh at them and throw them away (yes, that was a joke).
Just drop us a line on the board and we can discuss any thoughts
you might have.
That's all I've got to say right now.
I'm very busy, what with writing, practicing, solving world hunger,
meeting with President Bush, etc. but I will write again soon. Peace.

News Oct. 13, 2004
A couple of raunchy weekends at a couple of our
favorite places was enough to leave us with semi-permanent grins
on our faces. In fact, the weekends were so intense, we need to
take a couple of weeks just to cool down and get our heads clear!
First off was our quarterly visit to the Royal in
Moose Jaw. The three-nighter provided its fair share of mammaries
(and memories, too!). It was hard to leave Sunday morning considering
all the fun we had while there. Any time there are girls dancing
in the aisles, dancing on the floor, and dancing on the stage, is
guaranteed to be a good one. In fact, if you were to take a poll,
I'd bet an overwhelming majority would vote in favour of even more
girls shaking it all night long. Big thanks are due to all the people
who came out and partied all weekend, to the cool people we met
from various places around the world, to the staff for the excellent
treatment (as usual), and especially to the bouncers for protecting
us and our gear from the out of control masses. We can't wait until
our next venture west. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict that
it's going to get a little crazy!
Thanksgiving weekend we headed north to Saskatoon
for our first full weekend show at Bud's on Broadway. Holy Crap,
Batman! I didn't realize how much we were missing out on by not
playing Saskatoon for so long. I know I speak for everyone in the
band when I say that we will be back, and sooner rather than later.
An insane bunch of people like we encountered this weekend deserves
to be parlorized more often. I promise we will return immediately,
if not sooner. I was in awe from the opening chords Friday night
at the throngs of people flowing through the door. As we played
on through the weekend, I found myself continually wondering if
we had just hit a lucky time and the bar would soon empty out. By
the final set Saturday night, when the dance floor was so packed
you couldn't move and the party spilled well out into and onto the
tables, I had my answer. The people of Saskatoon come out in full
force. You folks should give yourself a pat on the back. The energy
that came off the stage is a direct result of the energy that was
present in the room all weekend. My hat goes of to all you people.
I hope you had a blast, because we sure did!
So now we'll be spending the next little while splitting
time between working on the new album, booking more shows, and that
thing that's happening that we're not quite ready to announce yet.
Keep your ears peeled for more news when it happens.
If you have a spare minute, be sure to pop by the
forum and give us an earful (or an eyeful if you have pictures!).
We've got new shirts out there. Pick yours up before they vanish
like Step Into My Parlor, of which there are less than 50 copies
left.
As I reflect on the happenings of the last couple
of weeks, I think of the Riders trying to lock up a home playoff
game, a couple of indescribably good weekends, new tunes going through
my head, begging to be recorded, and all the great times I've had
in the last while with my band mates. I think of all these things
and my cup is filled. I sincerely hope yours is, too.
Until the next time we talk,
C-ya on the Road to Rock.

News Sept. 28, 2004
This weekend marked our long awaited return to the stage after a
refreshing and well-deserved break with two shows in Regina. Friday
night was one of the best crowds I've ever seen at the Plains. Right
from the opening chords, the place was jumpin' and it didn't stop
until long after the house lights came on at the end of the night.
Big thank-yous are owed to the long-time fans we saw there as well
as some new ones we met for the first time, including some special
guests (you know who you are!).
Unlike a typical weekend at the Plains, we tore
down our gear Friday night so we could move over to the Callie Club
on Saturday for the RMAI-sponsored cabaret for their annual Toy
Run. The run was a huge success and we were honoured to be a part
of the festivities. We gave the show everything we had and left
thoroughly exhausted, as I'm sure did many of the patrons, as well.
Thanks to RMAI for inviting us to play!
This weekend sees us heading down the Trans-Canada
to our home away from home, the Royal Hotel. This 3-nighter is always
incredible, so if you haven't experienced a full-on Parlor Trixx
show yet, this is one of your best opportunities. If we haven't
met you yet, come up and introduce yourself. And if we have met
you before, don't be a stranger. We love renewing old acquaintances,
if you know what I mean! Get ready to dance, drink, and party until
the sun comes up! When Parlor Trixx hits Moose Jaw, always expect
the unexpected!
Keep your eyes peeled to the discussion board, and
don't be afraid to say something controversial. After all, what's
the worst thing that can happen? Are you afraid of being hunted
down and killed? Just kidding, we welcome any and all opinions.
It's the participation from our fans that makes the board a success,
so keep it coming. Also, don't forget to see us at our upcoming
shows about our new line of P/T merchandise. It's the hottest thing
to hit the streets since, well, the previous line of P/T merch!
Stay tuned for more updates soon on the upcoming
album and maybe another special announcement or two (did I get your
attention?). But before I go shooting my mouth off, I've got work
to do. Gotta get the bus loaded for the weekend.

News Sept. 6, 2004
Labour Day weekend is always somewhat bittersweet. Everyone looks
forward to long weekends, but on the other hand, this one generally
signals the end of summer. The horrible news this weekend was that
our beloved Riders resembled a team of sloths as opposed to professional
athletes as they were outlasted by the visiting Bombers, an awful
team in their own right. The good news, though, is that our weekend
at the Plains was awesome! Over the years of the Labour Day Classic,
there have been good teams and bad teams on both sides of the ball.
The consistent factor has always been the fans. I despise Winnipeg's
football team more than I can say, but I have nothing but respect
for the throngs that make the trek down the Trans-Canada every Labour
Day without fail. Bomber fans and Rider fans alike partied both
at Taylor Field and at the Plains. It seems that on a weekend like
this, the game is almost secondary. Big thanks to all the Bomber
fans who chose the Plains as their hangout and made our weekend
much more enjoyable.
Of course, a weekend at the Plains cannot be entirely
dominated by football. After all, we're talking about the bar that
has been one of the few places in Regina to seriously support live
music. There were loads of great tunes and more than a few drinks
enjoyed by many this weekend. A hot and sweaty weekend and a larger
than average crowd combined to provide the electricity needed to
make an energetic Parlor Trixx show memorable. To top off the incredible
energy, we had so many friends and family in attendance. When the
people that you care about get to see you doing what you love it's
always special, so thanks to all you folks for being there.
Also, we want to send out big props to the bands
that co-hosted the jam with us this weekend. 40 Oz. Flu was great
as usual, and Normal 2 None made everyone stop and listen to what
was happening on stage. Awesome, dudes! Of course, it's always fun
when Chris from BILF guests for a couple of tunes. The jam always
serves as a great reminder of the overabundance of talent we have
here in Regina. And chatting with some of the musicians assures
me that they are also first class people. Thanks, all.
If you're jonesing for your Trixx Fixx, check out
the merch section of our site and dress yourself up in the stuff
that proclaims your allegiance to the world. And, if you are one
of the unlucky people who is yet to pick up your copy of "Step
Into My Parlor", my advice is to get it now, or you just may
miss out! There are only a precious few left. And of course, whether
you're looking to talk, ask questions, or just get something off
your chest, our discussion forum is the place you want to be!
I think I speak for all of us when I say that it
felt fantastic to be on stage again after such a long layoff. Now
we're taking it slow getting back into the groove. We'll be doing
a private show in the meantime before we open up to the public before
the end of the month, first at the Plains and then at a cabaret.
Then the bus will hit the road in full force as we spread the word
of the Church of Rock and Roll to the masses. It's evangelism, Parlor
Trixx style!

News August 02, 2004
It was sad leaving Minnedosa last year. Everyone knew the festival
was dead. Mismanagement and changing consumer patterns for festivals
had left this event for dead, surely to exist now only in the history
books. Fortunately, a few people of principle stood up and decided
to save the annual event, calling it Rockin' the Fields of Minnedosa.
Working on a shoestring budget and countless volunteer hours, the
RFM group made a dream into a reality. Not only did the festival
survive, it also thrived.
This year's RFM was certainly cozy, but we couldn't have hoped
for a better time. Everyone there cared about the most important
things in life, first and foremost: Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll!
The performers were as varied as can be imagined, yet there were
no detectable egos backstage. It was incredible to see so many bands
united for a cause. And what better cause than to save this piece
of rock that has become so dear to so many of us? There were bands
there so young that we've been playing as long as most of them have
been alive. There were also bands there that have been playing as
long as we've been alive. But you never saw anyone bent out of shape
because they didn't get a better spot than band B, or because band
C got more attention from women. I kinda thought that RFM this year
reminded me of a smaller, tamer version of Woodstock. No corporate,
commercial crap, just tons O' tunes and not much sleep.
We would be remiss if we failed to recognize the phenomenal job
the organizers did. The hosts, security, sound crew, vendors, gate
staff, and especially the biffy cleaners, all were first rate, approachable,
and made us feel welcome. Tom, OldFan, and Penguin were especially
accomodating. The bands that were there were totally amazing. Aside
from FIST, Doucette, and Chilliwack, the bands that were there reminded
everybody that there is a ton of talent on the prairies. Bands like
DEZL, FUGR, Shattered, Blacklite Buddah, Sweet Siren, No Cigar,
Men Without Shame, and Slick Candy reminded us not only of the plethora
of great music that's made by independent bands in Saskatchewan
and Manitoba, but also of what great people there are. All were
friendly (even when the Shattered boys stole our banner :) and more
than willing to party with anyone who was willing. And last but
not least we must thank the fans. The hardcore partiers that have
been part of Minnedosa from day one are a prime example of why playing
music is so damn fun. The monuments and temples to Rock N' Roll
erected in the hills this weekend show a dedication that is humbling,
to say the least. Minnedosa plays such a large part of people's
lives that one couple made it the site of their wedding engagement!
Props to Nolan for having the balls to ask on stage right before
our set, and props to Patty for having the balls to say yes! Congratulations,
you two! People like this are the reason for summer festivals, and
you all deserve way more thanks than you receive. Cheers, all!
So, now we're into a month-long drying out process, and we'll likely
need most of that time after the partying that went on this weekend!
August will be a quiet one on the live front, but a very busy one
in the studio, while we work on our upcoming project, Hysteria II,
currently slated for an early 2010 release (joking about the release
date, really!). Other than an acoustic set August 24th, we're off
until Labour Day, when we'll welcome hordes of Manitobans into Good
Time Charlie's to show them how hard Riderville rocks. So stay tuned
for updates, keep posting on the forum, and spread the word wherever
you go: Rock isn't dead. It's just on vacation for the month of
August.

I've heard that good things come in small packages.
Brandon proved that for us this weekend! It was with great anticipation
that we showed up at the North 40, although we truly didn't know
what to expect. We were seriously worried when we heard that there
was a multi-band festival going on not far out of town. The festival
hurt our attendance, to be sure, but it left us with a small, intimate
crowd that cared about what we were doing, and when it all boils
down, that's the type of people we want to play for! We got to meet
quite a few really cool people and we had an awesome time in doing
so. And, wouldn't you know it, by the time the weekend was done,
the bar had transformed from a quiet get-together into a happening
party, complete with loud tunes, women dancing with women, and a
human jack-in-the-box! Props to the people of Brandon. Everyone
there was more than welcoming and we hope to be back soon.
If you Manitobans missed us in Brandon, make sure
you catch up with us in Minnedosa, now only about 430 hours away,
not that we're counting! If you still need tickets, get the the
Rockin' The Fields website ASAP! In the mean time, we'll be trying
to catch up on our sleep (I have a feeling we're gonna need it),
and working on our next album, which we hope to release well before
year's end.
If you can't get enough Parlor Trixx, be sure to
check out our multimedia page for a few clips of our live performances.
You can also throw in your brand new copy of "Step Into My
Parlor" to make you think of the great times last time we were
together. And if that's still not enough, join our discussion forum
and tell us about your problems, dreams, and fantasies.
We'll be waiting...

Moose Jaw is always a fun place to be because it's
as familiar as home, but a little more rowdy. Lucky for us, this
weekend it was a lot more rowdy! Our first experience in a smoke-free
bar was crazy. Unbelievably, every time we thought it couldn't get
any more intense, it did. We pounded out tune after tune after tune
and the dance floor was more and more incredible. So much, in fact,
that we ran out of time to do fire sticks! I guess stagettes tend
to have that effect. Even without fire sticks, our weekend finished
off with such an incredible vibe, it's gotta rank up among the top
gigs of all time. Thanks to all who came out, danced, drank, sang,
said hi, or just looked great! And as always, thanks to the Royal's
awesome staff. A cooler group you will never find!
If you haven't done it yet, make sure you check
out radio306.com and
request PT. We are now on their playlist, with "Aphrodisiac
Smile" and "Hidden Identity" moving up the chart.
So tune in and don't forget to request!
This week finds us hosting the Monday night rock
jam at the Plains. If you've always wanted to be a rock star, but
don't know how, come on out and give the stage a try! I can't think
of a better way to spend a Monday night than rockin' into the wee
hours of the morning. And, of course, this weekend finds us at the
North 40 in beautiful Brandon, MB. We can't wait to rock your world
as hard as you rock ours!
We then enter a bit of down time, which will allow
us to begin the recording phase of our next album. Start bracing
yourself now, 'cuz when this baby hits the shelves, it's gonna kick
your ass harder than you could ever imagine! Stay tuned for progress
reports.
Our down time will end abruptly at the end of the
month when we again head east, this time to Minnedosa, MB. If you
haven't lined up your tickets yet, get on board at www.rockinthefields.com
and make sure you get in on the party of the summer.
We'll be announcing the contest winners shortly
on our forum contest. Props to all who signed up and posted. Be
sure to keep posting. Fan participation is the only way to keep
the forum such a fun place to be!
"Step Into My Parlor" is almost gone!
Get yours today, or you'll soon be out of luck.
Don't forget about your PT gear. Summer's here,
and no summer ensemble is complete without a Parlor Trixx tank top,
at the very least! You can get merch at our shows, as well as through
the link here on our site. Don't be the last one in your town to
get outfitted in the hottest fashion trend this side of Paris. Get
yours today!
That's it for now. Until next time, keep partying

News June 22, 2004
This weekend was, as is most every weekend we hit
the road, in a word: awesome!
We started out by kicking off the annual Mopar meet
in Southey by rocking the Southey Bar Saturday night. After gorging
ourselves on steak and watching the Als pummel the Esks on tv, we
knew the evening was destined for greatness. It's hard to argue
with the hospitality we received. How can you not love it when the
bar feeds you great, then bends over backwards to make you feel
at home? It's tough to find cooler bar staff than you will get in
small town Saskatchewan. Three cheers for Southey! In addition to
many locals, we saw lots of Mopar wearing motoring enthusiasts,
and several honoured guests who travelled from far and wide just
to see us. Your commitment is above and beyond. Cheers! One final
mention has to be made to Sean's folks. We owe you big time for
taking us in and providing us with more than our fair share of food,
drink, great conversation, and clean towels. One problem, though,
I'm sure your pool table is posessed and has a hate on for me! If
we can ever return the favour, we'll jump at the opportunity.
So, Sunday found us tired and reeling at the Rider
Practice field at noon. Yes, that's right: noon! For those who don't
understand how life on the road goes, noon doesn't even exist in
our vocabulary! However, we fought through fatigue, gale force winds,
and malfunctioning gear to add a positive experience to what was,
by all accounts, a lousy afternoon at Taylor Field. It's all good,
though. I know the Riders will turn it around and I hope we'll return
to do another pre game show. I've wanted to do this for a while,
and the experience was definitely one I'll cherish for a long time
to come. It was awesome to be able to connect with some of the younger
generation of fans who don't normally get a chance to see us in
the bars. Rock on, guys and girls! Also, props to Bob, Kevin, and
the rest of the sound crew. Barry deserves lots of thanks for setting
up the gig. And, especially, it was fantastic to see so many family
and friends in the crowd. B*I*L*F's Chris never even let on that
his ankle was hurting big time when he joined us on stage for a
tune. Way to suck it up, dude! Also, a big shout out to the Wolf
mascot. If the Riders gave as much as the big fuzzy Wolf did, the
result of the game might have been different!
We now get a week off to prepare for the upcoming
invasion of Moose Jaw July long weekend. And a LONG weekend it will
be! We love playing the Royal, and we expect nothing but drunkenness,
debauchery, and copious amounts of Rock and Roll next weekend!
"Step Into My Parlor" is selling fast.
There are but a handful of copies left, so get 'em now, while you
still can! Don't forget to check out our merch page. You don't need
a special occasion to buy Parlor Trixx gear. Show somebody how much
you care by treating them to the finest line of clothing and novelties
on this side of the Atlantic!
Our discussion board is going full tilt, which is
good to see. And, to all those who like to lurk: feel free to join
in. It's better on the inside!
Until we next talk,

The Plains last weekend was hot, hot, hot! Unfortunately,
we don't get to play at home very often, so this gig was really
a treat for us. A few honoured guests, lotza booze, and even more
loud tunes made this one of the best weekends we've ever had at
the Plains. Friday night we were joined by some the Regina Bar Stars
group. Props to Jay for christening the evening "BarStars 5".
By the looks of it, you folks had as much fun as we did. Anyone
who wants to know who the barstars are can find out at http://www.reginabarstars.com.
Also, a huge thanks to the Foam Lake crew for making the trip for
both nights to drink and dance the night away. Your enthusiasm is
addicting, your smiles contagious, and your support is humbling.
What would a show be without great guest musicians?
Friday we were joined by the one and only Chris from B*I*L*F (http://www.bilfrocks.com)
for a couple of unbelievable tunes. Dude, if I could muster even
half the energy you have...wow. Thanx a million. And of course,
Saturday the stage was shared with countless numbers of Regina's
finest players as the famous Plains Saturday jam took place. What
made it even more incredible was the fact that it was the longest
I ever saw, barely allowing us to get on stage by ten. Kudos to
all the excellent musicians who took part.
I also don't think a write-up about the weekend
should go without mentioning appearances from longtime friends/soundmen/roadies,
Jerrod and Bug, and our famous merchandise sales guy, Dave. They
all walked out under their own power, but let's just say that after
a few (dozen) drinks, Dave won't hesitate to tell you about the
election! Honourable mention should be made of the awesome staff,
too, who always make us feel fantastic and are never too busy to
sit down and have a couple after the show. Our apologies that we
have no new photos up from this weekend. The band's digital camera
had a bad attitude this weekend, and inexplicably, no one else brought
one! It's probably better that way, though. No pics means no incriminating
evidence, right? No fear, though. We'll definitely have new pics
up of next weekend's shows. And we'll have some other, non-show
photos up shortly, as well. Saturday we are all stoked to bombard
a totally new town, and Southey is the victim, er, destination.
The autopilot on the bus is set and we'll be pulling into town about
120 hours from the writing of this article (not that I'm counting
down). I'd say get ready, Southey, but no amount of preparation
could have you totally prepared for what you'll experience this
weekend!
Then, of course, Sunday at noon we'll be on the
Rider practice field before the Riders pummel the Stamps to go 2-0
on the season. Make sure you take advantage of this no charge, all
ages party. It's gonna be incredible! Rumour on the street is that
some of you haven't yet signed up on the Parlor Trixx message board.
What are you waiting for? This is your golden opportunity to let
your opinions be known on the World Wide Web! And, don't forget,
as an added bonus, each post before June 30 gets you another entry
into a contest to win Parlor Trixx gear!
Times are good. The band is thriving, we're surrounded
by fantastic family, friends, and fans, and football season is around
the corner! Keep rockin' hard, everybody! 'Till the next time...

Saskatoon knows how to party, and we've got the
headaches to prove it! Our journey to Bud's on Broadway was an unqualified
success. Whether you're into rockin' tunes, lotza booze, dancing,
rowdiness, or just plain old debauchery, there was something for
everyone Saturday night.
It was a pleasure to open up the Saturday afternoon
jam at Bud's. We were totally impressed at all the young talent
that Saskatoon has. It was both entertaining and impressive. Hats
off to the players who were there hosting as well as jamming. Not
only did we enjoy listening to you all, but it was excellent talking
with you, too.
As the evening started, we knew the night was going
to be memorable. A decent sized crowd was present from the opening
chords of "Girl Like You" and the throngs grew steadily
throughout the night until the deafening applause after "Thunderstruck".
Even after our encore, we had a hard time leaving the stage because
of the amount of noise made by the crowd. The difference between
a good night and a great night is often due to the crowd present
and the Bud's crowd made the show unforgettable!
The bar staff should be commended for taking care
of us and our "special guests" so well. Tons of crowd
participation, from singing to losing underwear to just being plain
wild, kept us thoroughly entertained as we
worked to entertain the crowd! Thanks to everyone
who came out and was so "supportive", whether it be by
dancing, drinking, cheering, or introducing yourselves to us. We
met a ton of great people and we will see y'all again real soon.
We promise.
If you missed out on Bud's, you better not miss
the Plains in Regina on June 11th and 12th. Showtime is at 10pm,
so come early and get a good seat! Saskatoon just set the bar a
little higher, so if you've got pride, Regina, come on out and prepare
to be blown away!
New show just added: Rider practice field, before
the regular season opener June 20th, vs. Calgary. If you know how
much we love the Riders, you'll understand just how pumped we are
about this!
Stay tuned for more updates. Pics of the latest
Saskatoon show will be up soon, and we'll let you know of further
bookings. Can't get enough Parlor Trixx? Sign up for the Discussion
Forum and get intimate and interactive with the band while at the
same time entering to win cool prizes! That's it for now.

After a full year of anticipation, the Parlorization
of Kuroki is complete. Rainy weather meant that people had to stay
out of their fields, which meant time to relax and party! We had
excellent crowds all three nights, including Sunday's raunchy bunch
who really embodied what the Parlor Trixx experience is all about.
People traveled from far and wide for the shows, including Wadena,
Margo, Foam Lake, and Wynyard. I was especially impressed with the
number of people who introduced themselves as Parlor Trixx virgins.
I hope your first experience won't be your last!
As usual, the tunes were rockin', the fans were
noisy, the liquor was flowin', and the atmosphere was hot and steamy.
Like Santa Claus, Parlor Trixx in Kuroki only comes once a year,
and believe me, we came! Either everyone there had a good time,
or else anyone who didn't is embarrassed to admit it!
I don't want to get into naming names of people
who rocked, lest someone be left out--there were soooo many! The
people who came out (some all three nights!), partied, danced, drank,
and kept us up late, all deserve a huge "Hell Yeah". You
know who you are. Give yourself a high five or a slap on the ass
(whatever seems more appropriate).
Big thanx is owed to Eugene and Sandy for their
gracious hospitality. You guys always treat us incredibly well!
Shawn and Lori also can't be thanked enough for helping us out of
our unexpected accommodation problem. And finally, a huge shout
out to Dave, who set a new benchmark in merchandising this weekend.
We hope you can come with us more often, dude!
So now we get four days to rest up before heading
to Bud's in Saskatoon. We'll be hosting the jam in the afternoon,
starting at 2:00 Saturday, then taking the place by storm later
in the evening! We look forward to seeing all the Saskatoon Parlor
Trixx vets who we haven't seen in a while, along with some new,
unsuspecting virgins to Parlorize.
Don't forget to check the merch page for stuff you
can only get online. If you haven't got a copy of "Step Into
My Parlor" yet, you'd better hurry. There aren't many left,
and I'll be damned if I'm giving you my copy. Stay tuned for more
news about upcoming shows and progress on the new CD. And, if you
haven't signed up for the forum, what are you waiting for? Kuroki?
You just missed it! More news to come soon, but I've gotta go check
the forum!

Letter we sent to the Rockn the Valley people.
Band Wars and Rock N’ The Valley
c/o The Pump Roadhouse
641 Victoria Avenue East
Regina, SK S4N 0P1
To Whom It May Concern:
It is with deepest regrets that we will not be participating in
your Band Wars competition for Kinsmen Rock N’ The Valley
2004. Although we initially expressed interest in participating,
when we found out that you would be collecting a cover charge at
the door, our interest waned rapidly.
In a day and age when we feel that local acts need to work together,
we see band “wars” as the antithesis of cooperation
and, in fact, we think they tend to foster animosity between local
bands. Band “wars” do provide a limited new audience
for some bands that would otherwise go unheard, to be sure, but
primarily, they exploit bands, demanding that they perform for free
while the organizers reap the financial benefits of several bands
getting everyone they know to attend and of course, spend money.
To then collect money from our fans just for entering the door to
support us in what is already a most exploitative situation is the
final straw. Our fans have been incredibly supportive of us over
the years and we value them much too highly to subject them to such
a condition as this.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our participation in Rock N’ The
Valley in previous years and hope we can work together again. However,
if the organizers insist on gouging our fans at the same time they
are exploiting the bands involved, then we will be unable to participate.
If you wish to discuss anything further, please contact us by email
at ptrixx@hotmail.com or

Yorkton will always have a special place in my heart
because it's where I played my first road gig with Parlor Trixx,
so it seems fitting that it is in Yorkton where the most memorable
things seem to happen! If it's not a magical moment onstage, where
the band felt truly in tune with the crowd, it's a memorable time
offstage. This weekend, as usual, there was a little from column
A, a little from column B.
We saw so many people who traveled a fair distance
that we didn't expect to be there. We owe a huge thanks to the countless
number of people who have been so loyal over the years. Even though
we spend a ton of time trying to expand our fan base, if it all
ended tomorrow, it would be worth it. Our fans are truly the best.
Aside from a jam in Regina, we get another quick
break to prepare for the summer onslaught, marked by the opening
weekend party of the summer, May long. And we know what happens
on May long weekend, right? That's right, Kuroki, we're cummin'
back! And this time, no one's safe!
Don't forget to check out our merch page, and join
our discussion board, if you've got the guts. You can make a substantial
impression by taking place in an intelligent discussion, instead
of taking anonymous pot shots at us via the guestbook, like some
sort of spineless twerp. Oh...sorry. That was supposed to be a positive
promotion of our discussion board. No worries, for those people
who would rather stay positive, there's plenty of room on the board
for peace, love, and good happiness stuff. Keep checking back for
updates. We're currently working on more show dates and new tunes.

April 14, 2004
Quite often lately, we've been asked
just what the Hell it is that we've been doing. The answer is, simply
nothing. Well, maybe that's not entirely true. We've spent the last
little while reinventing ourselves. No need to worry, it's not that
kind of reinventing. You don't have to worry about us becoming the
latest Limp Biskit clone or anything. But we have injected several
new tunes into our set list. This in itself has lent a ton of energy
to our live show, as was evidenced in Saskatoon at Bud's Easter
weekend. But we've also been writing new songs and we'll be in the
studio soon to record our second album, "Appetite for McDonalds"
(title subject to change). Collaborating with some guest writers
has been fruitful and I think our second offering will add just
the right amount of maturity while at the same time staying true
to our fans and ourselves.
Capping off our world of change is
the brand new "World of Parlor Trixx" that you are looking
at right now. Our new website is user friendly and interactive.
We will be trying to post photos of every gig on the photos page.
Also, please check out our links page. It includes sites that are
connected to us in some way as well as sites that we just think
are cool. But by far the most exciting addition to our new site
is the discussion forum. Those wishing to pass on words of praise
as well as those who want a good scrap are encouraged to leave their
thoughts in the forum. I will be there often to defend our honour
and perhaps to share a glimpse into what goes on inside our twisted
minds.
So, we're now rehearsing to get ready
to take the new Parlor Trixx to the raging masses. Yorkton is our
first stop, and I for one, am giddy with anticipation. We'll be
logging a ton of miles over the summer, so keep your eye out :)
your town could be next!

12/30/03 So,
since after tomorrow I won't be able to write 2003 anymore, it's
probably a good idea to look back at the year we've had. Our pre-Christmas
gig in Weyburn was a pretty good metaphor for the year we've had:
lots of highs peppered with a few lows. First, we had PA problems
that took forever to fiqure out. That certainly didn't help, but
then, health issues took their toll on us later that night. We soldiered
on through the pain and missing voices and drunken fools wrecking
our gear and we gave the hearty few who were there a dose of R n'R
like they hadn't seen since, well...the last time Parlor Trixx was
in Weyburn! Although we survived, it was one of those nights that
you chalk up to experience. On the other hand, still hurting, we
came back with a vengeance Saturday night. From the opening chords
to the crazy bastards that wouldn't let us leave at the end of the
night, the Royal was rockin' loud and hard. Thanks, Weyburn, for
an unforgettable weekend!
We started the year
with high hopes for the band and for our CD, "Step Into My Parlor".
It turns out that both ended up having a pretty good year.
We travelled far and
wide, bringing much needed doses of escapism to the pleasure-deprived
masses and created indelible memories both for us and for the fans.
Stops in Saskatoon, Preeceville, Weyburn, Assiniboia, Kuroki, Swift
Current, Willow Bunch, Yorkton, Moose Jaw, Lang, Melville, and even
some dates in Regina were nothin' but fun for all involved. If there
was somethin' other than fun, either no one's admitting it, or it's
been long since forgotten! Especially notable was our trip to Craven,
playing the jam-packed Wayne's World stage to an out of control
throng of partiers, and the awesome time we had playing and partying
at the Little River Rockfest in Minnedosa, MB. The final "highlight"
for us was to be a part of the 2003 Grey Cup celebration. No one
knows how to party like 'Rider fans! Hopefully, 2004 will see us
spread our wings and venture a little further into the unknown,
bringing untold euphoria to a totally new group of unsupecting victims
(I mean FANS)!
2003 was also a momentus
year for "Step Into My Parlor". We started the year thinking about
working on a new album, but our focus quickly turned back to our
current project (although we've now got some stuff demoed for the
new album and it will definitely be out in 2004). Due to the ever-shrinking
nature of the world in which we live, we started getting requests
from various independent radio stations around the globe who wanted
to play our disc! We were also reviewed by several online magazines
and got favorable treatment from most. We also hooked up with Perris
Records during the course of the year and they now carry our album
at www.perrisrecords.com. Perris gave us the opportunity to appear
on a compilation album with the likes of Pretty Boy Floyd, Enuff
'Z Nuff, and others. Hollywood Hairspray, Vol. II is available online
at www.perrisrecords.com. I think the coolest thing, though, that
happened this year for our album is that it started getting serious
airplay on hardrockin80s.com. In fact, Aphrodesiac Smile ended up
being the most requested and most played tune for the month of November
and, a little birdie just told me that, with one day left in the
year, we are again well ahead of Def Leppard in requests for December!
This means that people are being Parlorized around the world! Special
thanks to all the people from various states (TX, IA, IL, NC, CA,
NY, RI, NJ, etc...) and from around the world (Japan, Germany, Italy,
Norway, Holland, Brasil, France, etc...) who have taken the time
to let us know that they're listening. All your emails and support
mean a lot to us and, just like our local fans, when we know you
care, that lends a lot of meaning to our work. Thank you everybody!
So, as our bus rolls
down the highway to a breathtaking ski resort for a sold out New
Year's show, we want to send greetings from our "house" to yours.
On behalf of Parlor Trixx and our extended family, may 2004 be filled
with blessings and more than a little fun for everyone. And may
all your wet dreams come true. Thanks for a great 2003.

I apologize for
the length of time between updates. It's been hectic lately. Not
that that’s an excuse, but I got to tell you something, right?
So, September was
Parlor Trixx at the Royal month in Moose Jaw. Not only did we get
one awesome weekend, but we managed to get back there the very next
weekend, due to a weird situation! You people just can't get enough,
can you? The staff at the Royal is always deadly, and our time there
in September was certainly no exception. We even got to see the
"practical joke master" in action! What a blast. Thanx for taking
real good care of us, guys! We've always loved Moose Jaw and we
always will. C-ya next year!
Next stop was Grill
39 in Lang. It was a small bar in a small town, no question. But,
wow! We were blown away by the hospitality and enthusiasm, not only
by the staff and management, but also the crowd. You guys filled
up the bar, and went hard till way after close. I hope we left as
much of an impression on you as you did on us.
October was also
a homecoming of sorts. It was the rare occasion that we actually
played our hometown! The Plains is always fun. This time was, of
course, too! You always get to meet tons of interesting people in
a night at the Plains. Special thanx goes out to the fans who made
extra effort to come out and see us. Your dedication certainly doesn't
go unnoticed.
Halloween weekend
was a new adventure for us with our first visit to Melville. We
were very impressed with the bar and the staff. Oh, yeah, the Halloween
partiers were pretty good, too!;) Even though the second night wasn't
quite as full, the people that were there certainly made the most
of the night, and everyone left satisfied! We hope we'll be back
for more R n' R Parlor Trixx style. Thanks, Melville!
Nothing happened
in November. Nothing at all! Wait a minute, that's not true at all!
A gig we're certain to remember forever was the opportunity to be
a part of the 91st Grey Cup. We played at the big tent right before
the game, and it was definitely a ball. Extra special thanks goes
to the "enthusiastic" revellers. It was definitely entertaining,
but then again, that's what the Grey Cup is all about, isn't it?
According to all who attended the festivities, this year's Grey
Cup was the best ever (and the tent finished with the best band,
too)!
So, the bus is
in the blocks, ready to roll into Weyburn. We haven't been there
in a while. I hope you folks remember to bring your earplugs and
lock up your daughters! Parlor Trixx is comin' home!
Aside from lots
of giggin', we've been writing, too! We've got some new demo songs
for the upcoming album that we'll hopefully be heading into the
studio to record in January. In the meantime, you might be able
to get some sneak peeks at our shows! If you haven't tuned in to
hardrockin80s.com yet, what's keeping you? We've been charting up
a storm on the online station, gathering more requests and airplay
than bands like Def Leppard, Firehouse and Europe. Check it out
and don't forget to request your favorite Parlor Trixx song while
you're there.
Look for more news
in the near future. There's lots of stuff going on right now, and
exciting news will likely be just around the corner. You'll hear
it here first. In the meantime and between time, C-ya on the road
to Rock!!!!!!!

Preeceville, it
was fun. We blew some stuff up, destroyed a fan (the mechanical
kind), and left some lasting memories for the fans (the human kind).
It was great signing the wall of fame, just around the corner from
the mighty Ted Nugent. We also left charcoal drumsticks and shredded
picks. All in the name of rock and roll. The staff was awesome as
usual, letting us invade the kitchen after closing and staying up
all night partying. Thanks, Preeceville, for the mammaries. And,
beware, we will return. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
What can you say
about three nights at Holly's? The band was up, the fans were up,
you could say that everything was up, even Rick's hair! Mr. Attitude's
debut went over famously, and it felt so great to be back after
such a long while. It was fantastic seeing so many people that we
haven't seen for so long. We got to catch up with the crazy Minnedosa
folk, had a Harley in the bar, and were thoroughly entertained!
Jeff was a great host, as always, and a special thanks goes out
to the awesome bouncers who took care of our friendly neighborhood
psycho! I don't know about everyone else; yes, I do know about everyone
else. Everyone, I'm sure, had as much fun as I did and can't wait
for a return trip. It won't be right away, but Yorkton will be Parlorized
again, you can count on that. Thanks for a weekend we'll never forget,
and here's to the ones in the future.

It's been a wild
summer, as expected. The Parlor Trixx bus has put on lotza miles
so far and we'll keep rollin' well into the fall and winter. The
people at Kinsmen's Rock 'N the Valley were, quite literally, blown
away by our high energy set. Many, many "enthusiastic" fans were
treated to a spectacle unlike any other seen at this year's festival.
In addition to the legions of bona fide Parlor Trixx fans in attendance
(big thanx to the special gals with the sign!), there were also
many unsuspecting Parlor Trixx "virgins" who had their cherries
popped in a most satisfying way! Hats off to the Kinsmen for putting
on another successful festival. Willow B's Tavern knew they were
in for something big the minute our gear rolled into the bar. We
were fortunate enough to be treated very well by the staff and patrons
alike. For a small group, the Willow Bunch kids like to party! We
hope to see you folks again real soon. August long weekend was a
trip next door to Manitoba, for the Little River Rock Fest. We played
two abbreviated sets over the course of the weekend and showed even
more people that the true spirit of rock isn't dead--it's just stowed
in the back of our bus! Thanx to the management out there for having
us, as well as to all our great "neighbours" for being awesome to
hang out with. Next stop--Preeceville. The GW will be shaking this
weekend until the wee hours. A packed house will undoubtedly create
an atmoshpere ripe for mayhem. Prediction for the weekend? Great
times! In the meantime, if you aren't close enough to catch one
of our upcoming shows, remember: it's totally acceptable to crank
up your copy of "Step Into My Parlor" and pretend you're there.
Have a drink for me, too. Watch for lotza stuff in the immediate
future. We'll have some new songs demoed in the next few weeks,
and, God willing, we'll be back in the studio in the early fall.
If you haven't got your complete line of Parlor Trixx merchandise,
what are you waiting for? Get in touch with us via email, or come
see us at our shows. You know you want it. Everyone's wearing it!
Don't be the loser on the block. Get your Parlor Trixx wear today.
If you haven't picked up a copy yet of "Hollywood Hairspray, Vol.
II", you're missing out. Parlor Trixx is included with the likes
of Pretty Boy Floyd, Enuff 'Z Nuff, Kristy Krash Majors, etc. For
more info, check out www.perrisrecords.com.

Well, another Saskatoon
trip is over! Our weekend at the Slosh was a little disappointing
at times, due to a crowd that could best be described as miniscule.
However, it wasn't all bad. Saturday night was a huge improvement
when we had some members of the audience that cared! It's always
a whole heck of a lot easier when people are there who give a shit
what goes on to let loose and put on a show. Extra special thanks
goes out to Kerri, we can always count on you. Thanks! Also, a big
hell yeah to Chris (Tesla dude) and the rest of his crew. You guys
made it so fun, and made the trip up Highway 11 well worth the effort.
Hopefully we'll be back to S'toon again in the fall, and, with some
proper promotion, we can show the Saskatonians how to party, Parlor
Trixx style! On a brighter note, a bigger crowd is expected for
our slot at Kinsmen Rock N' The Valley July 11. Don't miss the Wayne's
World stage at 1:00 am, after the Main Stage action is finished
and you've got your fill of OLP and Three Doors Down. It's gonna
be loud, crazy, and wild. Guaranteed, there'll be some nudity, and,
God willing, lots of it! Anyway you slice it, it's gonna kick ass
and you don't wanna miss out! We will be in rehearsals in the next
2 weeks working on material for our new album, and we'll be putting
miles on the bus this summer bringing the Parlor Trixx show to the
far reaches of the province. At times it's a lot of work, but we
keep doin' it because it's a labour of love. And we keep lovin'
it because of you, the fans! Things to check out: Don't forget to
get your copy of Hollywood Hairspray, Vol. II, from perrisrecords.com.
'Step Into My Parlor' is featured, along with tunes from Pretty
Boy Floyd, Jet Boy, Enuff 'Z Nuff, Kristy Krash Majors, etc. In
order to make sure that we get to Minnedosa this year, stop by the
Little River Rock Fest website and leave a note on their message
board! Shirts are now available with the new logo! Email for info,
or see 'em at our next show! 'Till the next episode, C-ya on the
road to rock!

I wish I'd had a camera..."WITNESS THE REBIRTH OF
ROCK--PARLOR TRIXX MAY 30 31" was what the sign read outside Caddyshack's
in Swift Current, and boy, did they witness it. Since Parlor Trixx
is SOOO different from the vast majority of bands, it took a while
for them to let loose and party, but by the time the Parlor Trixx
invasion was complete, the people of Swift Current were left hungering
for more. Thanx to all the rockers who showed up this past weekend,
we'll see ya again real soon! We've received some complaints from
fans about our news page not being updated regularly so, I'll try
to keep y'all updated on a more regular basis. Here's what's been
happening: As mentioned before, we are featured on Perris Records'
"Hollywood Hairspray, Vol II" and are receiving some attention because
of it. We got a good mention from Holland's Strutter'Zine, and have
also received other reviews. We also recently got word of getting
airplay in Bethlehem, PA on WLVR 91.3FM. We've been writing recently,
hopefully soon we'll be able to begin recording the next album.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the following sites: www.strutter.8m.com

Kyle just returned (Sept. 16) from Calgary where
he went to see his heros Rush in concert. He said they did not disappoint,
they embody all tht a rock show should be, Talent, Show, and Excitement.

Thanx to Tom Crook and everyone else involved in
putting on Little River Rock Fest in Minnadosa. Once again we were
treated with nothing but class. To all our fans, old and new, the
weekend would not have been the same without you! Who would have
thought 5 days would go by so quickly. We are all appreciative of
you wearing your Parlor Trixx Gear loud and proud. We love you all.
Hope to see you all real soon! Yorkton,
Yorkton, Yorkton, what can we say, it was a blast as per usual.
We had a lot of fun and hopefully made some new fans as well as
pleasing our present fans. Hope to see all you crazy Yorktoners
at Minnedosa.
"Second Chances
(too late)" played for the first time on Z99 July 17, 2002. It sounded
great. And with everybodies help requesting it, it will get put
into regular rotation. You can call 306-936-9999 or 306-359-9336

Hey everyone, how
about that heat at Rockn The Valley (and the temperature was high
too). To all our fans who caught the shows at Craven you are definitely
the best fans in the world, the KISS ARMY has nothing on you. Maybe
we should start The Parlor Trixx Army. Well we're going to Minnedosa
again this year. Thanx to all who came to the Watering Hole to cheer
us on, I'm sure we wouldn't be a finalist without you! Well gotta
go, keep in touch there will be some new photos soon and we will
try to keep the site updated more often.
